Augusto Montalvo, MD, MPH
Dr. Gus Montalvo was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Chicago. He is a product of the Chicago Public School system, receiving his high school diploma from Lane Technical High School on the city's northwest side. A U.S. Army veteran, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pace University, a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University and a Medical Degree from Boston University. He trained in Dermatology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a founding member of the Illinois Dermatology Institute, LLC.
Dr. Montalvo is Board Certified in Dermatology and is a member of the American Society of Lipo-Suction Surgery. In addition, Dr. Montalvo is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and holds memberships in numerous other professional organizations, including the Illinois Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, the Chicago Medical Society, and the Chicago Dermatological Society. He is licensed to practice medicine in Illinois, Florida and New York. Dr. Montalvo is fluently bilingual in English and Spanish.
He has over a fifteen years of experience in tumescent liposculpture, with a sparkling safety record and excellent cosmetic results. He received his training in liposuction while a faculty member at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and carried that experience to Northwestern University where he became the Clinical Practice Director of the Department of Dermatology, a position that he held for six years. There he further refined his skills in tumescent liposuction and other Dermatology-related cosmetic procedures, as well as general Dermatologic surgery.
In late 2002, Dr Montalvo established a private practice dedicated to adult general, cosmetic and surgical Dermatology. He still maintains close ties with the university. Dr. Montalvo is on the faculty of the Northwestern University Medical School and is on the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Northshore University Health System (Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals).
Along with seven other experienced Dermatologists in the Chicago area, Dr. Montalvo has helped establish the Illinois Dermatology Institute, LLC.
His office is located in The Colonial Center of Glenview, near The Glen, the successful development at the old Glenview Naval Air Station.
